You're making me hungry! It all looks so delicious. How were the prices of the food, were they fairly reasonable?

Hi Ruth
DeleteI felt very hungry selecting these photos.
The food was delicious however we did feel the need for a change every once and a while and fortunately found other places to eat. The curries were delicious and it was quite surreal to eat a curry in Japan!
We were told that Japan was going to be REALLY expensive so we saved loads of spending money. We did everything we wanted to and still came home with a third of our money. When we purchased our currency the £ was strong against the Yen.
How is the Canadian Dollar looking against the South Korean Won?

The Canadian dollar isn't as strong as we would like and it seems to be going down a little bit more too.$1 Canadian is about 936 South Korean Won. Kevin checked prices of many items and food seems to be in line with what we spend here in Canada. Touristy things seem a bit cheaper and transportation is quite a bit cheaper. It will be interesting to see how we do with our spending.
DeleteWow! I don't know why, but I thought food in South Korea would be cheap. It really does pay to do your research.
DeleteI can't wait to see how you do with your spending. I'm going to try and be really careful in Morocco so I can put any savings towards spending money for our Christmas trip. I am pretty good on the whole. I am not a 'shopping' girl. But I do like to buy a couple of souvenirs and the obligatory fridge magnet of course :)

My Beth is going to Japan soon. She is saving and I think she will really suffer as she is a fussy eater. I am scared to go to Asia with my seafood and egg allergy. I have been so sick eating Asian food more than one.
ReplyDeleteOff the horrible stuff and a story. We once stayed in a hotel that was popular with Japanese golfers. Miss Pip was quite taken that they had whole eggs on the breakfast buffet. At the age of six she marched up to one of the waiters, gave him an egg and asked him to poach it. She still does not believe me that some people crack a raw egg over their meals! I must admit that the waiter rushed off to find a chef who came out and asked her exactly what did she want? This was on the Queensland Gold Coast.
I hope your Beth has a wonderful time in Japan. I'm sure she will find something to eat. I never go to a country for the food as I only eat fish, not any other meat. So often food is NOT the highlight of a trip.
DeleteIf you have a food allergy travelling is quite tough, for sure.
I did laugh about Pip and the egg story :)
